Adopt a trail -FDRD & TOF

September 19, 2009 – 8:30 am

The Peaks Trail connects Frisco and Breckenridge. It is used by a variety of user groups year round. The trail passes through a lodge pole pine forest with several stream crossings featuring panoramic views of the Blue River Valley including the Continental Divide to the South and East and the Williams Fork Range to the North.

GOALS OF PROJECT:

Volunteers will work on a 2-mile section of the trail.   During spring run-off much of the trail finds itself under water which has lead to extensive trail erosion and habitat deterioration. You will have a chance learn new trail construction techniques building drainage dips, closing and rehabilitating braided trail, rerouting and re-vegetating
unsustainable trail corridors.
